When my friends and I get together everyone wants to contribute something. Our snacks will range from boxed Wal-Mart cookies to bags of chips or candy. After a year of unsatisfying snack food my roommates and I started making our own guacamole. This recipe quickly became a get-together favorite and has been served at weekend parties, football tailgates, and now family functions!
Not only are avocados healthy, but this guacamole is easy to make and tastes amazing. So get ready, it won’t last long once you set it out.
1 lime, juiced
½ red onion, diced
2 tomatoes, chopped; may also substitute with a ¼ cup of salsa
2 teaspoons of Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning
Salt and Pepper
Cut open avocados and slice up into a bowl. Save the pits as they will help keep the guacamole fresh, if there’s any left!
Squeeze the lime juice into the sliced avocados and mash avocados to desired consistency.
Add the red onion.
Add Tony’s to taste, I typically sprinkle a light coating across the top of all the avocados. Add tomatoes (or salsa), salt and pepper.
Serve with your favorite tortilla chips!
